Reintrodotto con successo in tempi recenti dopo essere stato sterminato a inizio secolo in quanto ritenuto erroneamente predatore di greggi. Si nutre solo di ossa; se troppo grandi, le porta in volo e le fa cadere sulle rocce per romperle. Il petto è bianco, ma diventa arancio perché il gipeto si sfrega nella sabbia.[en]Bearded Vulture, A bird bigger than a golden eagle (280 cm wingspan, 5-7 kg). Exterminated in the Alps at the beginning of 19th century since was mistakenly believed preying lambs, while it's a bone eater. To break big bones, it flies with them and let them fall on the rocks. The typical orange body is due to sand baths: feathers are white. Succesfully reintroduced in recent years in all the Alps thanks to an international program
